Medical Customer Service Specialist

We are seeking a Medical Customer Service Specialist to join a dynamic team, serving as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers. You will help ensure a positive experience by answering inquiries, resolving concerns, verifying information, and supporting daily operations within a medical office or healthcare organization. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to patient requests via phone, email, and in person, delivering prompt, professional assistance
• Manage patient registration, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage
• Resolve billing, claims, and account inquiries accurately
• Maintain confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to coordinate patient care and communications
• Document interactions and follow up to ensure timely resolution of issues
• Educate patients on office procedures, healthcare services, and next steps

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a healthcare customer service or medical office support role preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with medical billing software or electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
• High school diploma required; additional healthcare or administrative coursework is ideal
