Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Lab Assistant to join our team!

Duties you will be responsible for:

• • Accessions patient specimens.
• • Enters patient demographics, clinical history, specimen biopsy information into the laboratory information system; prints and attaches to the original requisition in preparation of case for the Pathologist.
• Be able to assist putting together cases for distribution to Pathology.
• Prints out slides and cassettes for patient specimens.
• Grossing of small biopsies.
• Assist in preparation of tissue samples, including embedding, cutting and staining of tissue slides.
• Files slides, blocks, and requisitions
• Assist with unpacking supplies – placing them in the proper storage location and dating the appropriate items
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Combination of education and experience commensurate with responsibilities
• Lab assistant experience desired
• 2 or 4 year degree preferred
